More portable projectors, please!
I am a bit of an outlier here at Gizmodo when it comes to projectors. I love them, and I’m especially addicted to portable projectors that can move from room to room with you, depending on where you feel like streaming something. Of course, a beautiful 65-inch OLED is ideal for watching premium videos, but what about just kicking back and watching wherever you feel comfortable in your home? So a portable projector with a decent speaker on the unit and a wireless solution? And is it as big as a coffee mug? Asus, consider me intrigued.
The company announced its new ZenBeam Latte L1 projector this week part of its CES product range. The cup-sized device works like a projector as well as a Bluetooth speaker, which means you can also stream music or podcasts from it. It is equipped with Aptoide TV for access to streaming programs and supports screen mirrors to cast from your phone. And the company says that this compact projector can project up to 300 lumens and project an image of between 40 to 120 inches – just as big or not bigger than your TV.
As a Bluetooth speaker, Asus says that the Latte can last up to 12 hours on a single charge. As a projector, you look at the battery alone for up to three hours. But it’s definitely long enough to catch an episode of your favorite show or even a movie with a normal run.
What I like about this projector, even if it is, even if the battery life for serious current is not the strongest selling point, is that it is compact enough to just grab anywhere. Heck, you can throw it in a backpack for a socially distant movie night in the backyard. But it also fits in smaller spaces like a shelf or a bookshelf without having to move a bunch of stuff to fit it.

Pricing and an exact release date are unclear at the moment, but we contacted Asus for more information. And you better believe I’ll be one of them to pick up one of these things when it’s officially hit stores.
