Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is officially the best-selling Musou game ever

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity mostly had a great launch. Although the sales for Cow Tecmo’s’ hack-and-slash ‘series are usually not brilliant, their status is’ Breath of nature prequel unquestionably elevated it.

Age Of Calamity has already sold 3 million units within a week of launch. In their latest financial report, Cow Tecmo has now revealed that it shipped 3.5 million units worldwide at the end of December.

This makes it the best seller Musou game of all time, but it does not seem to be one of Nintendo’s evergreen titles, like Breath of the Wild. It is clear that sales decreased quite significantly after the first launch period.

Cow Tecmo deviated from Age of Calamity and also confirmed the sales figures for additional games. While none of them came close to their latest Musou game, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy reached 220,000 units in Asia Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV’s re-release came on a respected 100k units.
