Of Hyper Light Drifter studio heart machine, Sonas comes to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store later in 2021. The developer unveiled new footage of the stylish alien world during Sony’s State of Play presentation on Thursday.
Heart Machine first unveiled Sonas in 2019. The game’s aesthetics – rich in purple and pink – feel connected to the studio’s legacy. But other than Hyper Light Drifter, which is a game from top to bottom, in pixels, Sonas is a dynamic 3D game. Sonas creative director Alx Preston spoke and described the game in a nearly 3-minute video during a Sony event. Preston said the player is taking control of Ash, on a mission to save her planet by using ‘fast and fluid’ movement and battles.
‘Sonas is Heart Machine’s vision of the adventure platform, ”Preston said during the video. “The giant spaces, the sense of movement, the flow of battles, and the battles with big interests on top of huge animals, all come together to give players something we think is incredibly unique, and more importantly, fun.”
Annapurna Interactive will release the game when it launches later this year.
