Hulu’s live TV offering gets more than a dozen new channels through a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS.

The deal will bring Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, CMT, TV Land, BET, BET Her, Nick Jr., NickToons and TeenNick to the service – thea ViacomCBS spokesperson should tell Gizmodo that he does not currently share details about tigers or timing, and that it is unclear whether the new channels will be included in the base level or as part of the separate additions.

However, the partnership will also help maintain some of Hulu’s existing offerings, including CBS and CBS Sports channels, the Smithsonian Channel, the CW and PVOD through Showtime, among others. Showtime is currently offered as a premium selection This adds $ 11 per month to the cost of the user’s plan.

“We are excited to have reached a comprehensive agreement with Hulu that emphasizes the value of our powerful portfolio of brands for the next generation of TV platforms and viewers,” said Ray Hopkins, president of US Networks Distribution, of ViacomCBS. “Hulu continues to be an excellent partner, and this agreement ensures that Hulu + Live TV subscribers can now enjoy the full range of our leading content in news, sports and entertainment for the first time.”

Again, it is unclear what the price or rollout for these new assets will look like. But Hulu would be wise to offer legacy channels like Nickelodeon and Comedy Central through its base packages – especially given the newly announced price increase which includes both the ad-free and ad-supported versions of his live TV bundle jumps about $ 10 a month. The service also recently lose support for Fox Regional Sports.

While the addition of cartoons and more entertainment programs will not compensate for the loss of local sports coverage, it can at least help increase subscriber costs;f you really, really as The Daily show or Suidpark, at least. Can be.
