Do you remember the big Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leak? A similar leak occurred for the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus, and it shared almost every detail you want to know about the new phone.
The details below have been provided by sources who speak to the German technology website WinFuture, and there are also some further photos of the devices of which we have a peek.
Some of the details provided here have also been leaked by other sources in the past, but this only helps to reinforce the information so accurately. The leak also indicates that Samsung will launch its new phone range on January 14, but this has yet to be confirmed by Samsung.
As you would expect, if you buy the Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S21 Plusn in the US, you will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset that powers the phone and the Exynos 2100 will do the job in other places around the world.
There is 8 GB of RAM on both handsets, but you can have the choice of 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. This is a bit of a surprise here, but this leak also indicates that the phone will not come with microSD support.
Android 11 is standard on the phone – though in the form of the company’s own One UI 3.1 software – and each handset has a flat screen, so there are no curves on the sides.
Camera technology will also be the same on both devices, and the main sensor on each device is a 12MP f / 1.8 shooter. Each room also has a 12MP f / 2.2 ultra-large camera with a 120 degree field of view and there is a 64MP telephoto shooter with 3x hybrid optical zoom.
On the front of each phone is a 10MP selfie shooter. Each device will be ready for 5G connectivity, and there is still no sign of a 4G variant of any of the devices, so we expect these to be the default connectivity options.
Specifications for Samsung Galaxy S21
The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch Full HD + AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and a punch hole camera in the middle of the screen, if this leak is correct.
It has a 4000 mAh battery in the phone, and your color options will be gray, white, pink or purple. The dimensions of the handheld device are expected to be 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm and it weighs 171 grams.
In Europe, the handset is set to launch €849 (about $ 1.50, £ 780, AU $ 1,370), with the 256 GB starting from €899 (about $ 1100, £ 825, AU $ 1,450). It’s about € 50 cheaper than the 4G variant of the Samsung Galaxy S20 cost, so it looks like the price for the standard device may drop compared to the 2020 phone.
What about the S21 Plus?
If you want the bigger phone, you get a 6.7-inch Full HD + screen with a self-timer camera with a hole and 120Hz refresh rate.
The battery will also be larger to power the larger screen, and it will be a 4,800mAh cell. According to this leak, the device will have 161.4 x 75.6 x 7.8 mm and weigh 202 grams.
It also comes in silver, black and purple, but the colors can vary depending on where you live. The Galaxy S21 Plus starts at € 1,049 (about $ 1,300, £ 950, AU $ 1,700), and the 256GB costs € 1,099 (about $ 1,350, £ 1,000, AU $ 1,800).
We have not yet heard accurate pricing information for the US, UK or Australia, although we hope to hear more from sources in the coming weeks.
All this information has been leaked, so take it all with a big pinch of salt, but much of what we heard here is consistent with what we’ve seen before, and it looks like it’s a great chance to be accurate.
Since there are a lot of rumors suggesting that January 14th is the big unveiling, we would expect to know more sooner rather than later, so keep your eyes open for Samsung Galaxy S21 leaks and the official announcement.
