Huawei has struggled to produce new products in recent years, after most of its component inventory was cut off by U.S. trade sanctions. Although the company has only sold its Honor subdivision and has not yet fully completed its HarmonyOS Android fork, Huawei is pushing ahead with a new flagship phone.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as OnLeaks, shared the version below of the Huawei P50 Pro. The phone is expected to be Huawei’s most important flagship for 2021, at least until new Mate devices appear. The P50 Pro looks a lot like 2020’s P40 series, although Huawei has apparently given up the dual selfie cameras in favor of a single front-facing camera.

The leak claims that the P50 Pro measures 159 mm high and 73 mm wide, making it almost the same dimensions as the P40 Pro (168.2 mm high and 72.6 mm wide). There are no images of the back available, and the exact technical details are unknown. Huawei has largely shut down the production of the Kirin chips that used its previous flagship phones, so it’s not clear what hardware the P50 series will use. The Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro were recently announced and both use Kirin chips, so maybe Huawei has enough of that for the P50 Pro.
