The future of Carson Wentz was Howe Roseman, general manager of Eagles, addressed several questions at Monday’s press conference.
Sunday brought another message that Wentz wants after being named Jalen Hurts this season, but there was also word that the team’s plan is to take a break and drop things off before decisions are made. Roseman suggested that was the case Monday.
He said the team “should come back and look at it with fresh eyes” because things are too “raw” after the 4-11-1 season came to an end.
As for Carson, I think it’s not a secret that we moved for him because we thought of him as a person, as a player. We gave him the extension because of the same things. And if you have such players, it’s like fingers on your hand. You can not even imagine that they are not part of you; that they are not here. This is how we feel about Carson. ”
While Roseman’s imagination is not a Wentz-less future, he does not rule out the possibility that things will go that way if asked for a trade.
“It’s not something we’re talking about right now,” Roseman said. “We are talking about a man who is very talented, has a good work ethic and does everything in our power to put him in the best possible situation to be successful.”
Roseman has said many times that the Eagles’ lack of success does not entirely fall on one person, but it is clear that drafting the plan for Wentz has a lot to do with drafting the 2021 plan for the Eagles as a whole.
