Astronauts from NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have begun the year’s fourth space step to serve the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA flight engineer Kate Rubins and Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi, the space agency’s space agency, left the station shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday in a continuation of efforts to prepare the station for solar power upgrades. .
Rubins arrived at the space station on October 14, 2020, and Noguchi arrived in November as part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission.
This is the fourth career space for every astronaut.
The pair will spend 6.5 hours outside the ISS and will complete various tasks, including discharging ammonia from the Early Ammonia system and installing a “reinforcer” device on the Quest air cover.
Work to install solar power kits began during Sunday’s spacewalk.
The new solar power plants delivered to the upcoming SpaceX Dragon cargo missions at the space station are a larger version of the Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) technology and will eventually increase the total available power of the station from 160 kilowatts to up to 215 kilowatts, ”NASA said in a blog post.
