How to use Google Maps as a social network

These profiles open another feature in Google Maps: follow and be followed. The idea is that you want to follow local experts who appreciate what places you want to visit regularly, as well as friends and family. To follow someone in the Google Maps app for Android or iOS, tap on their name in a review or rating and then select Follow.

To see your own followers, use the shortcut above in the Google Maps app: Contribute, dan View your profile. Tap on the Followers dial (which will have a number next to it, even if it is zero) to see who is following you. You can also see the people you follow (and follow people if necessary).

Tap to manually approve each new follower you get Edit profile, dan Profile and privacy settings from your profile and dial the Limited profile switch. If your profile is restricted, only your followers can see your reviews and ratings on Google Maps, as well as the list of who you follow.

Use the News Feed
