How to Start the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic Quest

For the Destiny 2 players who purchased the Season of the Chosen Season Pass, the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic Quest follows.

As part of the Destiny 2 Bungie added the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic to its game collections weekly, along with the Exotic Quest, The Voice and the Other Side. Start the Destiny 2 Exotic Quest for the Dead Man’s Tale is not as simple as some other exotic quests in the loot, so some Guardians may be a little confused about how to get it going.

The first thing Destiny 2 players will want to do after downloading the latest update is to go to The Arms Dealer Strike. The arms dealer strikes Destiny 2 is one of the remaining strikes of the Red War campaign, located in the European Dead Zone. At the start of the strike, players must see a newly opened road leading to Scorpius enemies and end up in a boss fight with an enemy named Than’Grot. There should be an objective marker showing players exactly where to go, but there are currently conflicting reports about it.

After defeating Than’Grot, Destiny 2 players can investigate the platform on which he stood. At the end of the platform is a blue crate and inside is an intercepted emergency signal. Complete the Arms Dealer Strike and then return to the tower.

Talk to Commander Zavala with the intercepted emergency signal on tow. When Zavala finishes speaking, Destiny 2 players should be given the option to accept the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic Quest, The Voice and the Other Side. The distress signal will lead Destiny 2 players to a place in The Tangled Shore, so mark it as the active search and then open the Destinations menu.

After selecting The Tangled Shore, note a new location in the upper left corner of the map. If the previous steps were completed correctly, Destiny 2 players should see a new Exotic Quest mission called Presage. The recommended power is 1230, so some Destiny 2 players may need to grind a bit before trying, but those who play the game regularly should be able to step in immediately and continue the quest.

It should be noted that, as with the Hawkmoon Exotic Quest, Destiny 2 players will need to purchase the Season Pass to begin the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic Quest. The Destiny 2 Season pass also comes with a bunch of other benefits, so it can be worth it for those who play the game regularly.

Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stages, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
