How to Start and Complete the Dead Man’s Languages ​​Presage Quest

Okay, well, I certainly did not expect to spend the last two hours on an extensive exotic quest on week 2 of Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen, but here we are. The Dead Man’s Tale quest is alive, livable and ready when you want to chase a new exotic Tex Mechanica scout rifle.

I’m going to do an overview guide as best I can, but some parts will be skipped because I can literally not do every room here. But there are some parts where you can get stuck, and you also need to find the quest first.

Step 1. Search the Presage Exotic Quest

You do this by loading the Arms Dealer strike, which is in the Nightfall, but you can do it if you check it out from the director. Kill everything in the first room and a door will open on your right. Go through it, fight a bunch of towers and a Phalanx boss, then pick up indicated emergency coordinates.

Step 2: Start Quest

Go talk to Zavala who will send you on a mission in the Tangled Shore on an abandoned Calus ship floating near the reef. You can start it from the director. You can do it alone or with a team. I think it’s doable solo, because it’s mostly about puzzle solving and less about ongoing fights and the boss fight. Although the boss would be somewhat tough solo.

Step 3: The Presage Quest

It’s a very, very long search for the first time you run it. So I will try to hit all the hardest parts.

You can not open the main door at the beginning. You have to jump from the side to the left on some platforms on which I certainly did not die.

You will meet the central mechanic of this mission, tracks. Traces allow you to get through strange Darkness doors that kill you otherwise. Let your team stand near the tracks and shoot it when it glows blue. It gives you a buff that can let you through the doors.

Generally, look for switches to open doors, and fuses to shoot to open doors or eliminate barriers.

There is a segment that you drop with Screebs in a garbage compactor; you must shoot all the grids on the floor until you find one with a fuse, and then shoot to stop the compressor.

There’s a trapdoor that will send you back a few rooms at some point, and I’m not saying where it’s because it’s funny.

There is a segment that involves a maze of tunnels. Once you find the doorway that leads to the main room from which you originally came, this is the end of the part. Search for a pass opened by left of the main screen and use tracks to get through.

Step 4: The boss

A whole bunch of clues later, you will face the final boss. He’s a giant Hangman type boss and he spends most of his time underground in an oven that will kill you. There are switches on the top level that you can use to rinse coolant to cool it down, and then you can go under and damage it. If you’re in a team, fall into different areas so he AOE kills you all at once.

Step 5: Get Dead Man’s Tale

Do not panic if you do not get the gun at the end, you must complete the mission and go talk to Zavala for it. Now, you can do the search for random roles again, and I’m thinking of more information and other secrets. Not sure if more will be added in time.
