The Resident Evil showcase takes place later today, January 20th, and you can see the whole thing here.
First, the Resident Evil display window starts at 14:00 PT / 17:00 ET / 22:00 GMT. Where you can see it, you can watch the full live stream from the official PlayStation YouTube channel just below, so you can stay on this page and click on the video below at the corresponding time later.
What we expect from the Resident Evil showcase itself will of course be a major focus on Resident Evil 8. When the showcase was first announced last week, Capcom revealed that there will be a guided tour through a certain section will be from the upcoming horror game, and the PlayStation Blog post reveals that producer Peter Fabiano himself will act as your guide.
However, according to the above PlayStation blog, there will be some surprises from Capcom around the Resident Evil franchise. At the moment you do not know what these announcements might be, but we are definitely in a delight.
Keep in mind that one of these ‘surprises’ could be the unveiling of the new, resident equally multiplayer game. Last week, Capcom quietly announced that closed test registrations would be offered live for a multiplayer game in the Resident Evil universe, but no additional details about the project were offered.
There is still time to sign up to take part in the closed test phase for the unannounced game. There are two waves of sign ups for the game, and you can still imagine being eligible via the game’s teaser website.
Furthermore, we can hear more information about the upcoming Resident Evil Netflix series. The subscription service announced the show for the first time last year, but we have heard little about the project since its launch. However, the series will be launched later this year, so it will be a perfect opportunity to reveal new details.
What is certain is that this is going to be a big event for Resident Evil. 2021 is the 25th anniversary of the series, as it was first created in 1996 by Capcom. With a game, television series and other projects underway this year, Resident Evil fans may have a surprise later today.
