How to Navigate the Orange County Convention Center Vaccination Site

ORANGE COUNTRY, Fla. The Orange County Convention Center, which has been hosting tens of thousands of people’s coronavirus testing for months, now also offers the province’s first large-scale vaccine, causing confusion for some who turn up for the tests or the shots.

To help you navigate the test site, News 6 drives the route to the conference center and creates a detailed map.

If you’re on your way to another vaccine in Central Florida outside of the OCCC, this article lists all the current sites in the region.

Before going to the conference center for the COVID-19 vaccine, there are several things people need to do.

As of December 31, there are currently only three priority groups in Florida included in this round of COVID-19 vaccines: health care workers, long-term care workers, and residents, as well as people 65 and older. Make sure you meet these qualifications before making an appointment.

2. You must have an appointment before arriving at the OCCC Vaccination Site. Anyone in Florida can register for this site. Visit OCFL.net/vaccine to begin the process.

3. Once an account has been created, users receive a barcode confirming their account, but individuals still have to choose the process of choosing a date for the first and second dose of the vaccine. Both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require two doses. After you have done this, you should receive a QR code by email with the date and time of your appointment. It will look like the example above. Orange County provided step-by-step instructions on how to register here.

4. With a screenshot or printed version of your QR code, as well as a valid ID header to the OCCC vaccination site, no more than 30 minutes before your appointment. The address is 9400 Universal Boulevard, Orlando.

People are asked to have a full tank of gas as well as any food or water. Waiting times can be longer than one hour. Kent Donahue, spokesman for the Orange County Department of Health, said the goal is to reduce the waiting time to less than an hour.

Direction to the vaccine line

After arriving in the vicinity of the convention center, follow the signs leading to the North Vaccination Complex. The premises are near the entrance of the OCCC. COVID-19 Tests is located in the Destination Parkway Garage.

News 6 drove the route to the site with the Beachline Expressway westbound from I-4 to the International Drive exit. Take the International Drive exit north and follow it up to Convention Way, where you turn right north, but instead of going to the vaccine, go to Universal Boulevard which goes east and turn in at the entrance for the vaccine line.
