Android devices are pre-installed with Google Chrome, but you do not need to use them. If you use Microsoft Edge on your computer, you prefer it on your phone. We’ll show you how to set Edge as your default browser.
Setting Microsoft Edge as your “default” browser means that the Android operating system will always use it when a browser is required. For example, if you select a link in an email, it will open automatically in Edge. This makes it much easier to use.

First, open the Settings menu on your Android smartphone or tablet by swiping from the top of the screen (once or twice, depending on the device manufacturer) to open the notification screen. From there, tap on the raticon.
Then select ‘Programs and notifications’ or ‘Programs’.
Search for “Default Programs.” You may need to expand the “Advanced” section to see it.
Here is a list of all the different actions that standard programs can have. Select “Browser App” to continue.
You will see all the apps on your phone or tablet that can be used as browsers. We want to choose ‘Edge’.
That’s it !! You can go back and Microsoft Edge is now the default browser on your Android device. Any action that requires a browser continues through Edge.
