Shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine hit major pharmacies across the country as the government works to vaccinate more Americans.
Earlier this month, the Biden government announced it would expand access to COVID-19 vaccines, release more doses for states and begin distributing to retail pharmacies.

The number of participating pharmacies and the allocation of vaccines are expected to accelerate as drug manufacturers increase production. For now, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Sam’s Club is one of the pharmacies in the area that has already started administering vaccines under the federal retail pharmacy program.
CVS currently offers COVID-19 vaccinations to ‘qualifying populations’ in a limited number of locations in 11 states. CVS said the vaccines are offered by appointment only. Appointments can be made online or via the CVS Pharmacy app. If qualifying recipients do not have access to one, they can contact customer service.
Walgreens also offers limited vaccinations in 15 states and jurisdictions to eligible recipients, including health care workers, people 65 and older, and individuals with pre-existing conditions.

The retail pharmacy has also set up an online scheduler to book appointments. For now, Walgreens will not deliver vaccinations due to the fact that “the vaccine supply is still limited,” the company said.
In addition, more than 1,000 pharmacies at Walmart and Sam’s Club in 22 states receive federal vaccines.
Eligible recipients can schedule an appointment with the vaccine directly through the Walmart and Sam’s Club websites. However, according to Walmart, a membership is not required to get a vaccination at Sam’s Club.

If customers set up a profile, they will also receive an alert when it’s time to get their second dose of vaccine.
Other large chains such as Rite Aid, Costco and some supermarket pharmacies also receive doses.
