If you want to participate in Festivals in New Horizons, you need to go to the residential services square and talk to Pavé.
He gives you the task of hunting down, and if you bring him three of one color, he gives you a Festival item.
This item will have the same color as the feathers you give him. If you give Pavé three blue feathers, you can then receive a blue Festivale flag, stall or one of the other pieces of furniture.
However, what Pavé really likes is Rainbow Feathers, and he gives you a DIY recipe that you can use to make it.
If you bring enough Rainbow Feathers for Pavé, you deserve the special Festivale Float.
How to Find Blue, Green, Purple and Red Feathers for Festivals in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
During the New Horizons Festival, you see feathers floating around your island.
Apart from the special Rainbow Feathers, there are four types of feathers you can hunt – blue, green, purple and red.
Like the seasonal materials, such as snowflakes and cherry blossom leaves, these feathers can easily get caught in your net. Simply run to your island, keep the wiggle-wobbling sound, meaning a feather is near, and keep it with you only.
These springs are a little more durable than the seasonal materials, so do not worry if you miss a few times, because the feather disappears.
If you are struggling to find a specific color feather, then take the time to talk to your villagers. They also hunt feathers and would love to trade.
If you talk to a villager, they will tell you what color feather they are looking for and what color you will receive.
Since the feathers stack in groups of three, you can only exchange a maximum of three feathers at a time, and it is important to note that you will always exchange the maximum amount of feathers from whichever stack you choose.
This means that if, for example, you only want to exchange one red feather but only have a stack of three, you will want to catch another red feather before doing the exchange.
Rainbow Feather Explains for Festivals in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Rainbow Feathers are the hardest feather to find during Festivals in New Horizons.
You can find it like the other colored feathers around your island, but since it is a rare occurrence, it is not a reliable source of Rainbow Feathers. It is much easier to make Rainbow Feathers with the DIY recipe that Pavé gave you.
To make a Rainbow Feather, you need one of each other’s feather colors – blue, green, purple and red.
It can be easily collected with you only or by merchants with villagers. Once you have one of each color, simply go to the nearest cell phone workbench and walk away.
Rainbow Feathers can then be used to receive Festival items from Pavé or to customize the same items.
How to Get the Festival Float During Festivals in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you want to earn the Festival Float during Festivals in New Horizons, you need to start collecting feathers.
To earn the Festival Float, you must first receive one of each Pavé Festival item. This can be done by exchanging nine Rainbow Feathers or nine sets of tricolor feathers.
Either way, if you have already received nine items, Pavé will ask for three Rainbow Feathers.
Collect or manufacture these Rainbow Feathers, and in return he gives you the Festivale Float.
You can now repeat the process to earn more Festival items and extra Festival Floats, or to simply do something else.
Festive Items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Explained
There are ten Festivale items, including the Festivale Float, that you can collect in New Horizons.

If you want to customize a Festival item, you will need to manufacture or collect a number of Rainbow Feathers. The amount of Rainbow Feathers varies depending on the item you want to customize, and it’s important to note that the Festival Float is the only item that cannot be customized.
Festive Clothing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Explained
To really take part in Festivals in New Horizons, you have to wear the part. Fortunately, the capable sisters have covered you and sold Festival-inspired clothing before the event even takes place.
The Able Sisters will sell the following festival-themed garments:
- Festival accessory – 2 240 bells
- Festive costume – 2,600 clock
- Festivale Tenkrok – 2 600 Klokke
Each of these items can be purchased in blue, green, purple or red.
If you want to ensure that you are dressed to impress Festivals, we recommend that you purchase your chosen outfit well in advance. This is because the above clothing is part of the Able Sisters rotating inventory, which means there is no guarantee that these items will be available every day.
Fortunately, however, the Festivale garments are guaranteed during the event itself.
Viva Festivale Reaction Kit in Crossbreeding: New Horizons Explained
From February 1st to February 15th, you can purchase the Viva Festivale Reaction Set at Nook’s Cranny in New Horizons.
The Viva Festivale Reaction Set costs 19,800 Bells and can only be purchased once by each playable villager.
After bringing the reaction set, you will automatically celebrate, Festival themes, unlock reactions – Confetti, Feelin ‘It, Let’s Go and Viva.
These reactions will really help you get into the Festival mood and will be unlocked once the event is over. Just remember: you only buy it between 1 February and 15 February.
During this time, Nook’s Cranny will also be selling one item from the Festival set every day.
Festive Date and Time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Explained
Festivals in New Horizons will always take place on February 15th each year.
In 2021, Festivals take place on Monday 15 February and last all day, which means that Pavé will be on your island until 16:00, which is the daily reset time in New Horizons.
On this day you will be able to chat with Pave outside Resident Services and collect the feathers that float around your island.
