Tips for completing the Pallet Town Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go
Here are some tips to help you complete the Pallet Town Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go:
- If you want to complete the Pallet Town Collection Challenge during the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, be sure to play between 09:00 and 10:00 or 14:00 to 15:00 (local time). During these periods, the Pokémon found in Pallet Town will occur more frequently in the wild.
- You have until Sunday 28 February at 19:59 (local time) the opportunity to complete this Collection Challenge, so do not feel that you have to rush the experience!
- If you’re having trouble finding a specific Pokémon, try using Incense to lure Pokémon to your specific location. However, it is important to note that the Pokémon attracted by the Incense during the Tour: Kanto event will differ slightly depending on which version you are playing.
- You can also lure Pokémon to your location by placing a lure on a PokéStop. There are also three special lure modules – Glacial, Magnetic and Mossy – that will lure specific Pokémon types.

- Don’t forget to use Razz and Nanab berries to catch Pokémon more easily.
- If you want to save PokéBalls, try targeting Pokémon with lower CP levels, as this is easier to catch.
- Watch the Pokémon radar in the lower right corner of the screen and use it to locate specific Pokémon to the PokéStop they are currently hiding.
The season of celebration has arrived! With that comes an equal cap increase – including the addition of XL Candy, the Legacy 40 Challenge quest and a boost for some XP resources – Platinum medals, the advent of Gen 6 Pokémon like Espurr and changes to the Go Battle League. We recently saw the addition of ‘Strange’ red eggs and new Arlo, Cliff, Sierra and Giovanni series.
How the Pallet Town Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go works
Collection Challenges in Pokémon Go was released in January 2021 and runs alongside certain in-game events. With each collection challenge you will catch a number of Pokémon that appear in the wild more frequently due to the event.
After completing the collection challenge by capturing all of these Pokémon, you will be rewarded with a number of items and progress for your Elite Collector Medal.
The Pallet Town Collection Challenge is part of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event and is available a week after the event to ensure you have enough time to complete it. That means it will be available from Saturday 20 February at 09:00 (local time) to Sunday 28 February at 19:59 (local time).

Collection challenges can be found in the ‘Today View’, which you can achieve by pressing the field research button (the small binoculars) in the lower right corner of the screen. Depending on whether you are looking at your current field or special research tasks, you may need to scroll to the left.
After visiting ‘Today View’, you will find a list of the Pokémon that you need to catch to complete the Collection Challenge. If you catch a Pokémon in the Collection Challenge rooster, you will tick it off the list to keep track of which ones you caught and which ones did not.

It’s important to note that Shadow Pokémon and those you hatched from eggs will not count towards the Collection Challenge.
Remember – this collection challenge must be completed before Sunday 28 February 19:59 (local time), otherwise you can never add it to your Elite Collector Medal.
Good luck with completing the Pallet Town Collector’s Challenge!
