As news officers from Maricopa County Health officials announce that they plan to start vaccinating individuals for phase 1B, officials have outlined how you can plan your appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Maricopa County Public Health Website, vaccination for Phase 1B of Maricopa County will begin on January 11th.
Qualifying populations included in Phase 1B are:
- K-12 school staff and child care workers
- Law enforcement / protective services *
- Adults 75 years and older
Those in Phase 1B must have an appointment to be vaccinated, and according to their website, no access is allowed.

On the on-screen website, preferences are given to those who meet certain requirements, and participants will be notified on January 7 when the vaccine will be available, according to the website.
Official health officials ask individuals prioritized in Phase 1B to provide the following information on the day of their appointment:
- Appointment confirmation
- A form of ID that confirms your Phase 1B service, such as a work ID or payment system, or an ID that shows your age if you are 75 years or older
The health website of the province also indicated that those in law enforcement / protection services or who work in education should consult their employers before making an appointment with the health protection center website. Employers may have more information on other vaccine distribution plans based on an individual’s employment, the website says.
