Manchester United will try to extend their Premier League lead while facing Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team climbed to first place in the middle of the week with a win over Burnley and could increase their lead if they win on Sunday afternoon.
United have been unbeaten in their last four Premier League games against Liverpool (D2 L2), their longest run without a win over their rivals since a run of five between March 2000 and January 2002.
As for the early team news, Amad Diallo may be in a role in the match squad, but Phil Jones and Brandon Williams have both been ruled out.

It’s all about the result for United this weekend at Anfield, but Solskjaer will be wise to stick to his tried and tested setup, even if a more defensive option is available.
United switched to three full-backs for most major games last season, but the current full-backs all play well and deserve a chance against the very best in Europe.
Matic would be an understandable choice in midfield, but Fred and McTominay remain unmatched as a partnership, while Pogba is better on the left than in a diamond.
Rashford on wing, but I choose Martial over Cavani if it’s fit, simply because of his pace against a backline that has the license to chase.

Solskjaer has some tactical options for Sunday, such as switching to a back try or going to a diamond midfield, but the 4-2-3-1 has worked well recently and he needs to stick to it.
There may be a temptation to bring Lindelof back in defense, but the Bailly and Maguire partnership worked well until the end of time and it deserves to get its toughest Test to date. The backs are choosing themselves at the moment.
In midfield, the drive and energy of Fred and McTominay is a must at Anfield, while Fernandes is the first name on the team sheet. However, Pogba’s form means he has to start too, and the easiest solution could be a left-wing role for the World Cup winner. Rashford and Cavani can complete the top three.
