How Jabari Parker fared in his Boston Celtics debut

The Boston Celtics signed Jabari Parker on Friday night, and the 26-year-old forward was quickly thrown into action.

With Jaylen Brown (illness), Robert Williams (knee) and Evan Fournier (health and safety protocol) all on the sidelines, the Cs were cut short on Saturday night.

As a result, Parker saw little action, even though he was only with the team one day. And he said: he has performed very well given that he has only played in three games this season before his Celtics debut.

Here’s a look at how Jabari Parker fared in Boston’s 119-114 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Jabari Parker’s first Celtics game

Parker did really well as a goal scorer from the bench for the Celtics. He played 16 minutes for the team, including some important ones in the fourth quarter, and he scored 11 points.

Parker’s play over the interior was particularly impressive. Many times he caught the ball near the basket, he was able to turn it into points. It all started early when he got started with a setback.

While the game continued, he continued with a solid appearance. He rarely took pleasure in jumping shots, with four of his shots being within the 7-foot mark, including this nice setback from a Marcus Smart miss.

Parker’s effort on the inside is part of the reason he was able to go 5-out-6 off the field. His only miss was the lone 3-point shot he took. And while he’s not much of an outside shooter, he’s made a bouncy castle jumper. He therefore has a degree of scope.

Overall, Parker looked good during his debut, and it would seem that Brad Stevens’ plan to use him as a backup square and small-ball size should work out well. If the 6-foot-8 forward can still score from the bench, he could become a very good find for the Cs.
