In one of her Twitter posts, she says ‘post-covid lungs look worse than any horrible smoker’s lung we’ve ever seen.’
“Everyone is just as worried about the death case and it’s horrible and it’s horrible. But man, and all the survivors and the people who tested it positively, is a problem,” said Dr. Bankhead-Kendall said.

Like many, she has treated thousands of patients since March.

She said it is too early to know the extent of the effect of COVID-19 on your body or if the scars heal, but she said it is important that if you experience shortness of breath after your COVID-19 disappears, contact your primary care physician.
