One last time we open a match week with a statistical equation. This one comes with a twist, maybe an asterisk.
Alabama plays a week after playing Ohio State for the national championship in Miami Gardens. This in itself is not such a strange statement in a normal world … but, you know. It’s hard to find apples to apples Comparisons between Ohio State and Alabama are difficult, as the Buckeyes have only played seven games against the Crimson Tide’s 12.
So the numbers are just not that telling when we look at the two teams side by side. The sample sizes only differ. With that in mind, we took some normal stats measured in this space and converted them to averages per game instead of seasonal raw numbers.
It works both ways for the Buckeyes: one bad game in a certain category can put numbers much more in a seven-series than a 12-series.
Either way, these are two explosive fouls that score more than 40 points per game and are in the top six for both the total foul and the score.
