Hospitalizations in New York from COVID-19 continue to decline

The number of New Yorkers hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to slide, dropping to 4,617, according to the latest count.

The number of positive coronavirus tests on Friday was 2.92 percent out of 225,793 and the static wide positivity rate, measured at an average of seven days, was 3.16 percent, government Cuomo announced Saturday.

The positive seven-day rate in New York on Friday was 4.04 percent, a tick from the previous day’s benchmark of 3.97 percent.

The virus claimed 77 lives Friday, including 43 residents of the five districts.

The state has administered 6,446,720 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the past 24 hours, including 182,584, Cuomo also announced Saturday. He said 1.9 million people in New York had at least one stab.
