Hospitalizations in Iowa are now below 400

EDITOR’S NOTE: The daily numbers we report do not match the numbers the state reports for each day. Every day at 10:00 we take the previous day’s numbers from 10:00 and subtract them from the current numbers at 10:00 from the state. Instead of reporting a day later, we want to give you the latest information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we report numbers from their COVID-19 sites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we report numbers from the state’s website.

IOWA

(KWWL) – There were 847 new, confirmed cases from 10:00 to Sunday 10:00. according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 312,811.

The state’s website says 274,104 of the 312,811 people who tested positive recovered. That is 915 more recoveries than the state reported Saturday.

The state’s death toll is 4,488, which is more than was reported on Saturday.

Subtracting the number of repairs (274 104) and the number of deaths (4 488) from the total number of cases (312 811) shows that there are currently 34 219 active positive cases in the state.

On Sunday morning at 10:00 there were 51 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 384, which decreased from 419 yesterday. Of these hospitalizations, 79 are in the ICU (compared to 76 yesterday), and 36 in ventilators ( lower than 38 yesterday).

In Iowa, 2,751 new tests were taken in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,447,213 people were tested on COVID-19. The positivity rate of the last 24 hours (847 positive tests divided by 2,751 tests given) is 30.8 percent.

According to the state’s latest vaccination report released Friday, 167,961 total doses were administered to Iowa residents, with more than 26,463 completing the series. As of Friday, 6,648 Black Hawk County residents, 13,188 Linn County residents, 15,045 Johnson County residents and 6,339 Dubuque County residents received the vaccine. See the report for more information. Iowa is currently in Phase 1a of vaccine deployment, meaning doses are being distributed among health care workers and long-term residents and staff. Phase 1b begins February 1st.

BLACK HAWK LAND

From 10:00 Sunday the Black Hawk COVID-19 Dashboard shows 48 new cases since Saturday at 10:00, leaving a total of 14,970 cases (14,079 PCR and antigen-positive cases and 891 Serology-positive cases). There are still 22 recoveries for a total of 12,585 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 243 deaths. The average positivity rate of 14 days for the country is 10.6 percent.

LINN COUNTY

From 10:00 Sunday the Linn County COVID-19 Dashboard shows 60 new cases since 10:00 10:00, leaving a total of 18 049 cases. There were 14 additional refunds, leaving a total of 15,635 repairs. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 251 deaths. There are currently 27 patients in the country in the hospital. The average positivity rate of 14 days for the country is 8 percent.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state dashboard Sunday at 10 a.m. There have been 36 new positive cases in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Saturday. This brings the total to 12 287 reported cases. There are a total of 10,771 recoveries, which 50 reported more than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 52 deaths. The average positivity rate of 14 days for the country is 10 percent.

DUBUQUE-LAND

According to the state dashboard Sunday at 10:00 a.m., 60 additional positive cases were reported in Dubuque County since 10:00 p.m. This brings the total to 11,623 reported cases. 26 additional recoveries were reported, leaving a total of 10,378. No additional deaths were reported, leaving a total of 159 deaths. The average positivity rate of 14 days for the country is 10 percent.
