(CNN Español) – The Minister of Defense of Colombia, Carlos Holmes Trujillo, who is positive about covid-19, was hospitalized “in the area of critical care”, according to a statement from the Colombian presidency issued this month.
The officer followed up “receiving permanent medical attention from the corresponding multidisciplinary group, debiting the actual acute respiratory infection, secondary to viral neonemia by SARS COV-2”, explain the official note.
“After being evaluated by the medical staff of the Military Hospital in Bogotá, it is reported that there is strict monitoring of his clinical condition and medical care”.
The governor announced that while Holmes Trujillo was recovering, the Commander-in-Chief of the Military Forces, Luis Fernando Navarro Jiménez, was summoned as the Minister of Defense charged.
On January 12, it was announced that the Minister had been diagnosed with covid-19.
