Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition is now free for PS4 and PS5 owners

Sony and Guerrilla Games’ PS4 Hits Horizon Zero Dawn is now available for free to PS4 and PS5 owners. PlayStation owners on both consoles can use a free digital copy of the game until May 14 at 20:00 PM / 23:00 ET.

The free copy that Sony is offering is the Full edition, which means you not only get the base game, but also some extras, including the Frozen Wilds expansion and a digital art book. Unlike the free PS Plus games, which require an active subscription to the service, Sony is giving away the game for free, without any accessories.

Horizon Zero Dawn was originally released in 2017 as a PS4 exclusive. Players control a young hunter named Aloy who wanders into a post-apocalyptic world dominated by machines while searching for clues about her past. The game also receives a sequel titled Forbidden West, which is expected to launch on PS4 and PS5 this year.

The promotion is part of Sony’s “Play at Home” initiative, which aims to encourage PlayStation owners to stay home during the pandemic by inciting players to free games until June. In addition, Sony also gives away nine titles, including Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Enter the Gungeon free until April 22 at 20:00 PT / 23:00 ET.
