Honor launches V40, his first phone after leaving Huawei

Honor introduced the flagship View40 5G, the first phone since Huawei was sold, Divide Chinese reported. If the V40 is released in China, it could come to Europe and elsewhere later under the View brand.

The V40’s main feature is the 6.72 inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and maximum brightness of 800 net. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor and offers 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage and a 4000 mAh battery. The “Mahong-card” rear camera series offers a 50-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 2-megapixel macro camera, along with a laser module to enhance focus. The 16-megapixel camera on the front is housed in a pill-shaped cutout.

Huawei announced it would sell its budget brand Honor last year to help Honor’s suppliers and retailers survive after crippling sanctions. With Huawei out of the picture, Honor should be able to offer Google’s services with the View40 5G, including the Play Store. This will make it much more feasible for Honor to sell the device outside of China, but there is still no word on whether he intends to do so. In China, the Honor V40 costs 3,599 ($ 555) and 3,999 RMB ($ 618) with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage, respectively.
