(CNN Español) – The governor of El Salvador ensures that the homicide rate in the country is reduced by 44.9% in 2019.
A statement from the Presidency, which shows figures from the Civil National Police, stated that by 2020 there will be 1,322 assessors, representing a 3.6-day death toll.
According to the authorities, in 2020 there will be 1,076 less minors than in 2019 and with it, there will be less violence since the peace agreements were made, in 1992, the report was aggregated.
The governor of El Salvador attributes this reduction to the so-called Control Territorial Plan, which includes police and military presence in the municipalities’ incidential incidence.
Without embargo, the General Prosecutor’s Office of El Salvador will conduct an investigation to determine whether the governor has a pact with the penalties for the reduction of homicides, as well as the announcement of the El Faro digital periodical in September.
President Nayib Bukele denies the existence of agreements with Mara Salvatrucha MS-13 to reduce assessments for the benefit of criminal penalties, as well as to ensure periodic investigation.
The Fiscalia pesquisas, which are currently in circulation, will be included in September in the General Directorate of Penal Centers in search of probable cases.
