Home inspector accused of sex law with client’s Elmo doll

A Michigan Home Inspector has been charged following criminal charges he allegedly masturbated with an Elmo doll while working in a child’s bedroom.

Kevin Wayne VanLuven, 59, of Clarkston, was arrested Wednesday on charges of grievous misconduct and malicious destruction of property under $ 200, according to WJBK, Detroit Fox. He was booked into the Oakland County jail on a $ 2,500 bond.

VanLuven, who was hired by homebuyers on March 12 to inspect a home in Oxford Township, was admitted inside the home with the buyers’ real estate agent, who left while the inspection was in progress.

While she was outside, one of the owners received a webcam alert on her phone that movement had been detected in the nursery. It was then that she saw VanLuven masturbate, according to The Smoking Gun.

But that’s not all. While the camera was recording, VanLuven picked up the Elmo from the floor ‘and it looks like he wants to entertain himself with the doll’, reports the Royal Oak Tribune.

The homeowners then called 911, and officers showed up while VanLuven was still inspecting.

Initially, VanLuven told officers he only touched the doll to investigate a socket, authorities said. When confronted about the camera, he apologizes and incriminating statements, the sheriff told reporters.

“Just when I thought I saw everything, someone stepped up and surprised me with a new level of disturbing behavior,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard told a news conference. ‘It’s a disgusting reminder to be careful with who you let into your home. The actions of these homeowners are likely to prevent this defendant from entering someone else’s home. ”

If convicted, VanLuven will face up to two years in prison and a $ 2,500 fine. He was ordered to undergoes a mental health assessment and is prohibited from being alone in any residential property that he does not own, as he is awaiting trial. He was also ordered to have no contact with the Oxford Township homeowners.
