‘Holy grail’ 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 million worth at auction

Too bad Indiana Jones is not looking for a new car because the ‘Holy Grail’ from Corvettes is coming up for auction.

A unique 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 is scheduled to cross the block during the Mecum Auctions event in Glendale, Ariz., On March 20th.

The Sunfire Yellow coupe is one of the 20 Corvettes from 1967 specified along with the L88 option package, which essentially turned it into competition cars.

The L88s are powered by a 428 cubic-inch V8 developed by the race, which was officially rated at 430 hp, but reportedly could run 560 hp on racing fuel, which was a tremendous amount of power for the time being.

The cars are also equipped with high performance, brakes, rock crusher 4-speed transmissions with a narrow ratio and Positraction rear axles.

The fully restored car coming to Mecum is the only known example with Sunflower Yellow paint and, more importantly, the only one with its original number-matching engine, which could make it the most precious Corvette in the world.
