Hollywood responds to US Capitol protesters: ‘Sick and sad’

Hollywood is speaking out after protesters broke the Capitol on Wednesday.

The chaos led to one protester being fatally shot when lawmakers burst inside and the evacuations began quickly, the Metro Police Department in Washington DC told Fox News.

Violence erupted as lawmakers were ratifying the votes of the Electoral College calling for the election of Pres. Joe Biden won it. They were told to put on gas masks and block inside while law enforcement officers tried to restore order.

Celebrities immediately took to Twitter when the shocking scenes unfolded, with Ashton Kutcher taking a tweet on Wednesday for people to “support the peaceful transition of power !!!!!!!!”

“It’s a patriot!” he added.

Pop star Pink told her fans she was ‘ashamed’ of the events that took place on Capitol Hill, writing“As an American citizen, and the daughter of two veterans, and the sister of another, I’m ashamed of what’s going on in Washington.
