Holly Robinson Peete claimed on Friday that Sharon Osbourne had complained that she was ‘too ghetto’ to co-host their show ‘The Talk’ – and suggested she might have lost her job as a result.
Earlier this week, Osbourne had a heated exchange with co-presenter Sheryl Underwood over Osbourne’s defense of her longtime friend Piers Morgan, whose criticism of Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was branded racist.
Osbourne – who demanded that Underwood educate her on racism – cried during the spitting, suggesting that her co-host accused her of being racist just because she kept Morgan.
But on Friday, Robinson Peete, who hosted the first season of the talk show in 2010, suggested the shoe fit.
‘I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too’ ghetto ‘for #theTalk … then I was gone. I bring it down before me now, because I killed myself when I saw the disrespectful condescending tone she adopted with her co-host, who remained calm and respectful because … she HAD, ” Robinson Peete tweeted. “I’ve always been a highway girl, but when I looked at what everyone saw in my previous program, it spurred me on and I wanted to talk,” she adds on Instagram.
Osbourne later apologized and said she “does not approve of racism, misogyny or bullying.”
“I really regret anyone of color I offended and / or anyone who feels confused or let down by what I said,” she said.
Meanwhile, Morgan sued Osbourne’s ‘bullies’ for forcing her mea culpa and apologized to ‘The Talk’ for ‘their shameful insults against me.’
A rep for “The Talk” and Osbourne did not comment on Robinson Peete’s accusation.
