IO Interactive has several teams, and at least one will support Hitman 3 with patches and DLC after the launch. Large warns, however, that it is unlikely to include new levels such as Hitman 2’s New York bank level or Haven Island. Instead, the team wants to ‘use existing places and re-imagine and distort them’.“We’re definitely going to do some DLC, but we haven’t figured out what it is,” Large said. “I think we are not looking at new maps like the bank and the island for now. We are rather looking at using existing locations and distorting them again. And this time we can use the whole trilogy “We can look back on Hitman 2016 charts, Hitman 2 charts – we have all the places.”
In our Hitman 3 review, we said “Hitman 3 is rich, rewarding, and extremely playable. It’s an excellent part of IO’s idiosyncratic but much-loved stealth series. The principles have not changed since 2016, but the collection excellent maps provide a refined, reliable and robust curtain closer to the current Hitman trilogy. “
Hitman 3 has already repaid its costs within one week, so it’s no surprise that IO Interactive wants to support it.
