Hitman 3 surpasses its predecessor to claim No.1 | UK Boxed Charts

The PS5 version accounted for almost half of sales

Hitman 3 reached number one on the UK boxing charts, with sales 17% higher than its predecessor.

The boxing release of Hitman 3, developed and owned by IO Interactive, was handled by Square Enix, the company that previously owned the franchise before releasing it. The latest game, 2018’s Hitman 2, was published by Warner Bros.

The PS5 version of the game was by far the dominant edition, accounting for 49% of sales. The Xbox version made up 27%, while the PS4 version made up 25%. Of course, these are just physical games, the bulk of Hitman 3’s sales took place in the digital download space.

Hitman’s top title debut means that Animal Crossing: New Horizons drops to number 2, although only 800 games separate the two titles. Animal Crossing’s sales fell 8% week-on-week.

Some new PS5 consoles were released in the market last week, which had a positive effect on some titles. Spider-Man: Miles Morales rose 161%, jumping from no. 12 to no. 5, Demon’s Souls re-enters the cards at no. 27 with a 291% increase in sales, and there were sales points for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (56% higher and powered by the PlayStation version) and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (7% higher, but with the PS5 version 174% ). In total, sales of PS5 games increased week-on-week by 324%.

Another great stimulant was Ring Fit Adventure. The Nintendo Switch fitness game regularly popped up the cards during the pandemic when new stocks hit the market. The contest rises to number 7 with a 47% increase in sales.
