Hit-and-run Kennedy Expressway: 3 IDOT employees injured in I-90, Harlem crash near Norwood Park, Illinois Police in Chicago, says

CHICAGO (WLS) – Three Illinois Department of Transportation employees were injured early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run accident on Kennedy Highway, Illinois police said.

Police said the crash happened at about 1:40 a.m. on the inside of the Kennedy in Harlem Avenue, near the Northwest Side Norwood Park area. The IDOT workers put out cones for locking and were inside their work vehicle with flashing lights, according to police, when they were stopped by a driver in a gray car afterwards. The impact forced the IDOT truck off the road.

The female driver then ran away from the scene and left her car behind, police said. Officials know who the suspect is, but have not yet found her.

According to law enforcement officials, the three workers were transported to the hospital.
