Historic house rolls down hilly San Fran streets

And you thought your last move was difficult!

The owners of a 138-year-old Victorian home made it roll through the hilly streets of San Francisco on their way to a new address.

The large green six-bedroom 1882 house was loaded on giant dolls and paraded six blocks through the Golden Gate City from Franklin Street to Fulton Street, amazing footage of ABC7.

A struggling amused spectator stood on the sidewalks to witness the 1km / h march.

The first part of the trip was to explore one of the infamous hills of the city.

“It’s always hard for a home,” Phil Joy said.

Joy had to obtain permits from more than 15 city agencies, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, while the homeowner raised $ 400,000 in fees and relocation costs.

To make way for the rolling house, parking meters were torn up, tree members cut off and traffic signs moved.

According to Zillow, the house in its old location was valued at about $ 5 million.

A building with 60 apartments will soon be erected on the now empty site.
