But we are going to pull it up. We have to pull it up. Failure is not an option.”

Becerra said that leadership at the federal level is needed to ensure that the vaccination of substances and government efforts to control the virus are effective and handled smoothly.

“But first you have to save people, you have to save the economy,” he said, adding: “President Biden has made it clear: it will not happen overnight.”

“We can not just tell the states, here is some PBM, some masks, here are some vaccinations, go do it now,” the HHS nominee added.

His comments come in the wake of questions about Biden’s comments suggesting the US could do little to quell the COVID-19 pandemic in the coming months.

“There is nothing we can do to change the trajectory of the pandemic in the next few months,” Biden said Friday.

The Biden government has promised a more practical approach to combating the spread of COVID-19, as opposed to the Trump administration’s largely state-centered approach to the distribution of vaccines.

During his first week in office, Biden signed a number of executive orders, including orders addressing the pandemic, such as one requiring travelers to wear masks at airports.
