Emily in Paris? More like Emily in PJs. Variety reported that the approximately 90 foreign journalists from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and torture us we recycle every year via the Golden Globes, asked nominees to stay home and not attend the proceedings in person, because … well, you know why. “It is our main goal to keep the production of the 2021 Golden Globes safe,” read a letter from the production emailing the nominees Tuesday afternoon. “Therefore, we follow all COVID protocols and guidelines set out by the relevant government offices / agencies, including the CDC, federal and local health departments, as well as the requirements in the entertainment industry, to employment agreements.” While the Golden Globes seem to take the greatest precautions when it comes to their nominees, it’s a different story for the presenters. Last week, HFPA presenters, including Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, and Midwest Queens Barb and Star, were invited to appear in person at the Beverly Hilton or Rainbow Room in New York with hosts Amy Poehler in LA and Tina Fey in NYC.

Not only are this year’s honors being asked to stay at home, but the HFPA is asking nominees to stay at home with members of their own households, so do not see a shiny Canadian. Schitt’s CreekEmmy party in style during the event on February 28th. “Our vision for the program is to have our nominees in a safe place, preferably in their homes, only surrounded by people in their immediate households. The production is not comfortable with other events that are not supervised by us. Thanks for understanding. “It looks like Hollywood’s wildest party this year is not going to hold a candle for Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo and Jamie Dornan who will hit the city in Vista del Mar.
