The LG Stylo series has long been a favorite for people who want a stylus on their phone but do not want to sell a kidney to get it. Last year’s Stylo 6, however, was a bit disappointing, but offered poor performance and precious few upgrades over its predecessor. Will the follow-up perform better? Thanks to OnLeaks, we’re only now looking at the Stylo 7 5G.

Although most specifications remain unknown, these versions tell us a bit more about the upcoming device. The chin has been quite pronounced this year, and a punch hole camera has replaced the notch at the top of the screen, giving the phone a more modern aesthetic. The screen is a 6.8-inch flat panel, with no word yet on resolution or display technology. The current Stylo 6 uses an IPS screen, and I suspect so too.

The body measures 170.4 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm, which makes it a relatively large phone, if slightly smaller than the Stylo 6.

If we move backwards, we can see that the three-chamber system is now arranged vertically, as is the way it is these days. The rear fingerprint reader is gone, probably below the screen, or maybe in the on / off button, and the headphone jack is here again, flanking the USB-C port opposite the pen and speaker.

While most phones place the volume buttons on the right side with the on / off key, LG kept things old-fashioned and set on the opposite side, along with a Google Assistant button. I’m happy with the decision because I find it easier to take screenshots when the on / off key is opposite the volume rocker.

Finally, the leak reveals that there are likely to be two versions of the Stylo 7: the 5G variant pictured here and a cheaper 4G variant. The Stylo 6 was launched in May this year, so the 7 is probably a few more months away.
