Here’s how to register for the coronavirus vaccine in the Houston area

HOUSTON As more doses of the coronavirus vaccine arrive in the Houston area, officials are stepping up the administration process.

Vaccinations are only available to eligible people under phases 1A and 1B of the state’s distribution plan. Click here for more information on who will be included in the phases.

If you are able to receive the vaccine, you can register to receive it.

Eligible persons can also contact their healthcare provider directly for information on how to receive the vaccine.

The Houston Department of Health has launched an online registration portal and phone line where people can register for appointments. The demand was great and there were long times reported for the phone line.

On January 4, the Department of Health announced that the COVID-19 vaccine clinic appointments would be discussed for the remainder of January and that additional appointments would not be taken at this time. Officials said as the city’s doses increase, more appointments will be available.

Fort Bend Health and Human Services has launched an online registration portal where people can register for appointments when they receive the vaccine.

Officials said they do intend to vaccinate some members of the general public when the vaccine is made available to the country. Information on how to make an appointment will be posted on https://mcphd-tx.org/ when the doses are available.

Officials said the distribution of vaccines at Brazoria County health clinics will take place as soon as the province receives the vaccine. They said residents should follow the latest updates at https://www.brazoriacountytx.gov/.

The Texas Department of Health Services has created a map of healthcare providers who have received doses of the vaccine. You can click here to see it.

Officials said patients should contact the provider directly to determine if the vaccine is available.
