hero find what Google knows about you through Google ad data
It is generally understood that Google will collect data about people to tailor ads and better target each person with a Google Account. What you may not have realized is that the data you have collected to customize ads is also just a Google search, and you can also see what Google think it knows about you.

A few days ago, TikTok user @yorgoandlea posted a video that has garnered thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of views since then. In the short video, she showed that all you have to do to see what Google knows about your internet connection journeys and search activity is a simple Google search for the text string ‘google ad settings. The search will then take you to a page that shows you all the topic categories that Google has found, or that you think apply.

In my case, the information is fairly accurate, but that will not always be the case if some of the TikTok comments are indicative. Some users found that their listed age was very wrong, or that interests were completely inaccurate. In my case, Google figured it out for me, taking everything into account. It made my demographics correct, and that the main interests I have are related to different technological areas. Further down the list, however, were categories for music, flowers, and pets that in no way apply to me. After that, I went ahead and removed the items so I could hopefully see no ads about it.
