The original Pokémon Snap, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, sees players ride on Zero-One buggies across the generically named Pokémon Island commissioned by Professor Oak. New Pokémon Snap gives players a whole new region to explore, a new professor to guide them, and new ways to edit and share endless photos of beautiful pocket monsters.
We are conducting an ecological investigation into the Spring Region in New Pokémon Snap. Led by Professor Mirror, we ride the Zero-One again and document the wild Pokémon from the various islands of the Spring Region.
We take photos of pocket samples on which their pocket sample is turned on, arranged one to four stars based on the photo composition, poses and how much of the photo frame is filled. Throwing special items at Pokémon can change the way they act, giving us the opportunity to capture rare attitudes. The camera can be used to scan as well as photos, to discover hidden monsters and other secrets lurking in the landscape.
New Pokémon Snap is not just about filling out a pokédex. We can also edit our personal photos, add filters and stickers and upload them to the internet to be judged by our peers.

Although there are new layers and features at play, New Pokémon Snap seems to have the same energy as the original 22 years ago had. I can not wait to sit around and look at some pocket samples when the new game takes place falls on April 30th.
