Here’s how OnePlus aims to improve OxygenOS in 2021

Despite the challenges of 2020, OnePlus had one of its busiest years ever and released a huge range of new products highlighted by the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus Nord. As the company looks to the new year, it has taken a while to shed some light on how it plans to improve OxygenOS in 2021.

In a forum post on Wednesday, OnePlus reflected on the past twelve months and highlighted the success of its Open Ears Forums, which enable the company to open a direct dialogue with users about OxygenOS. The post talks about some things OnePlus users have inspired the company to develop, such as automatic theme conversion and a refreshed shelf design.

But there are more improvements going on, which we have summarized here:

Camera

  • Work in progress to optimize the contradiction between lens and AWB
  • Fixed HDR portrait halo – Done (must upgrade to HDR4.0)
  • Add smart recording when shooting kids – Already under closed beta testing

Sound and accessories

  • Continue to adjust the sound
  • Active noise reduction is currently being evaluated

Gambling

  • Add additional chat apps to the Quick Answer Games feature
  • Work to bring high refresh rate and haptic feedback to other community favorite games
  • Bring FPS rate and other stats to Game Space while you play

Of course, this is just a small example of what the company has planned for 2021. Of course, there will always be new features in the works that we probably do not yet know about. OnePlus regularly requests community feedback for OxygenOS with initiatives like OEF and IDEAS, which have helped launch features like Always-on Display (AOD), folders in the app, and more.

Apart from OxygenOS, OnePlus apparently has big plans for the start of next year. The company had previously confirmed plans to eventually release a smartwatch, while the OnePlus 9 leaked on a few different occasions. Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that the company plans to launch its first fitness carrier that can be sold for only $ 40.

With new features for OxygenOS and several rumored devices, there is a lot to look forward to if you are a OnePlus fan.
