Tina Fey and Meredith Scardino’s comedy series Girls5eva was one of the more sensational announcements of Peacock’s first wave (because it was co-created by Tina Fey and has a fairly well-known cast), and now we finally have our first look at the series. Girls5eva, as you might guess from the name, is about a girl group from the 90’s who suddenly become relevant again when a rapper samples their one hit monster, which inspires them to get back together and plan a comeback. The Girls is played by Sara Bareilles, René Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell and Busy Philipps, who make this Bareilles the second major TV project in recent years and the second major TV project for a young streaming service (she has the music done for Apple TV +. Little voice and appears in the series as herself).
Girls5eva goes on premiere on May 6 at Peacock, and you can watch a trailer for this.
