Apex Legends makes its long-awaited debut on Switch next Tuesday, March 9th, and in the run-up to its release, developer Respawn Entertainment shared a brand new trailer that will take a closer look at the free-to-play shooter running on Nintendo’s.

Apex Legends was originally expected to launch on the platform last fall, but the complications caused by the coronavirus pandemic have pushed through this year’s release. The port is finally ready for its public debut, and Switch owners will be able to play on the platform next week, enjoying all seasonal content and full functionality with other versions.

And if you’re wondering how the Switch edition is shaping up, it seems that the answer (and admittedly, I’m no Douglas Foundry) is ‘very nice’, with the gateway – developed in collaboration with Panic Button, which also brought to Doom’s console like Doom Eternal, Warframe and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus – get a fresh version in the trailer below.

The only downside is that Switch owners are catching up a bit to do, what with the Apex Legends action a month into the shooter’s eight season – which, if you are not familiar, the new playable hero Fuse, ‘ a new leverage, add-on action rifle known as The 30-30 Repeater, a new Battle Pass and the Season, plus some major changes to the Kings Canyon map.

Respawn aims to address the late start of season eight by providing the first 30 levels of Apex Legends’ current battle map for free to Switch players. In addition, dual XP will be awarded on the platform for the first two weeks after launch next Tuesday, March 9th.
