The PlayStation 5 is no easier to get its hands on today than when Sony introduced the next-generation console last fall. Currently, the PS5 is sold out in both its configurations: the $ 500 Blu-ray Model and the cheaper $ 400 digital version with no optical drive. Although ‘out of stock’ currently remains the situation at all major retailers, the same stores (as well as Sony itself) have managed to occasionally reload the stock and release their console in bursts. Check back here for the latest updates on when retailers have stock and offer it for sale online.

As of March 15, PS5 consoles are nowhere to be found at regular stores. If you are willing to spend money like water, you can get a PS5 or PS5 bundle from a retailer like eBay or StockX – but we recommend waiting. In a few months, we expect inventory levels to rise, and then you may regret spending $ 1,000 or more to get a PS5 sooner.
You can monitor yourself where the PS5 is available; Twitter, for example, is a good source of recurring rumors. But we are sometimes notified directly by retailers and tipsters about the upcoming inventory, and we work on this message immediately. Again, note: it will probably take months before something approaching normal stock levels appear in stores, so getting your own PS5 will likely be a challenge until the earliest summer. Below is a list of all the major retailers (and some high profile sellers) where you can monitor inventory and availability.

When in stock, Target is offering the PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500, in addition to the PS5 Digital Edition, which you can find by clicking the button below.
You can check the availability of the $ 400 digital edition at Walmart by clicking the button below, or you can try to pick up the more expensive PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500.
We do not recommend spending more than retail to get a PS5, but if you need a console now, eBay is your shortcut to getting a console. That said, expect to pay hundreds-over-the-list; the average PS5 price on eBay is around $ 800.
If you have exhausted all the usual retail options and are willing to pay hundreds more than the price, you can visit StockX, an eBay alternative that has made its name in the secondary market for sneakers and designer clothing. The last time we checked it, the prices of the PS5 dropped just under $ 650. We do not think it’s worth it, but let your conscience (and your wallet) be your guide).
