Here is the ‘Destiny 2’ season of the chosen roadmap

Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen has been announced, and with it comes another seasonal roadmap that runs from next Tuesday to mid-May, the usual three months. I thought you might want a more permanent place to refer to the road map as a tweet, hence this article, but you can see it in larger form here, because I doubt you can see everything so well.

I also wanted to talk a little bit about what is on the road map, and any surprises or non-surprises we encounter. Here are the key things that stand out to me after I go through it:

– The most important feature of the season is the new Battlegrounds events, which, if I’m a three-man custom activity, could be something we see on the same scale as Forges. According to what we can see, there are four in total, and that’s on Nessus, the Cosmodrome, the moon and … not sure about the latter (Update: Europe, judging by the trailer). Unlike Forges, they may use existing map areas, I’m not sure yet.

– The two victims of Destiny 1, Fallen SABER and Devil’s Lair, start as soon as the season is live, although we do not yet know if it is somehow integrated into the story like The Disgraced in Beyond Light, nor is it does not rewrite at all, or merely contains original dialogue and final bosses.

The new HELM location was a mystery to fans, as it looks like it’s its own separate space that is not in the current tower. There are theories that this is a rebuilt area in the old tower, but not necessarily that the whole old tower comes back to life. It looks like the HELM is investing our ‘currency to upgrade X-thing for more bonuses’ this season, out of sight.

– One thing is this only touched on in this roadmap and nowhere else do the new Stasis Aspect Quests come. We do not know how many (at least one per class, I recommend) and also not what form they will take (more checklists like last time, or an actual mission?). I’m sure the effects it has are not controversial and will not affect PvP at all. I hope this will continue the Clovis / Elsie storyline in Europe so that we do not just tear the place down completely.

Trials begin immediately with its new armor, probably the most beautiful one we’ve seen this season, and the new trailer has unveiled a new Trials handgun. From what we can see, it seems that new trials and new drops from the playlist are the only thing PvP is adding / focusing on this season.

Only more than a month after the launch do we get the real new strike for the season, Proving Grounds, taking place on a moving tank, and I guess the delay is because it will have some sort of seasonal story component. in it could not take place right during the launch of the season. Oddly enough, Bungie is doing something where season pass holders get the strike a week ahead of F2P players. I mean, okay?

– Finally, we do Guardian Games as a conclusion to the season, and although some people say that the armor reminds them of SRL, I do not buy it. There is a ‘closing ceremony’ this time, although I’m not sure what it’s going to be, although I’ve heard some theorize about the reopening of the old tower. My only theory is that Heir Apparent will return, and this time it will also get a catalyst.

What is not here? A mysterious exotic search for a Tex Mechanica weapon that some people say is the first curse, but it could all be new. And of course, Bungie may still be hiding secrets that are not listed anywhere.

A lot of this depends on the quality of the loot and the seasonal activity, but I’m encouraged with what I’ve seen so far, and I’ll definitely give the season a try. Stay tuned for more information.
