A former personal assistant to Marilyn Manson supported Evan Rachel Wood after she became one of several women to abuse allegations against the musician.
Dan Cleary, who initially worked as a keyboard technology for Manson’s tour crew, served as his personal assistant between 2014 and 2015.
Talk about his Rare Radio podcast, Cleary claims he personally witnessed Wood’s distress while touring with Manson between 2007 and 2008.
“Her attitude has changed,” Cleary said. “Her physical appearance has changed. She became thinner. She got it – her whole aura just got darker. ‘
Wood, who was previously engaged to Manson until their split in August 2010, named the singer as her abuser earlier this month – after giving similar evidence earlier in February 2018 about an abusive relationship with a House Judiciary subcommittee delivered.
“He started caring for me as a teenager and abused me horribly for years,” she wrote. ‘I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I already live in fear of retaliation, slander or extortion. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he destroys more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent. ”
Cleary also admits that he feels a degree of complicity and explains: ‘I mean, I talked to his manager about it, but the manager seems to know it all and does not care much.
‘There are people who say I’m complicit because I saw these things happen and did nothing, and I will accept that. There is some truth in that. ‘
Manson denied Wood’s allegations, but was subsequently fired from his record label Loma Vista.
He was also deprived of his TV projects, with his appearance removed American Gods and the Creepshow anthology.
Following Wood’s initial allegations, Phoebe Bridgers claims she visited Manson’s home when she was a teenager, where, according to her, he told her he had a rape room in his home.
