Henry Cejudo teases Dana White with photo of Deiveson Figueiredo: “This is your fighter of the year?”

Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo is still pursuing Dana White over current promotional title holder Deiveson Figueiredo.

Despite retiring from mixed martial arts immediately after his TKO victory over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249, Cejudo (16-2 MMA) was relentless in his calls from fellow fighters.

‘Triple C’ has hit a number of different fighters over the past few months, but its main targets came in the form of UFC champions Deiveson Figueiredo, Petr Yan and Alex Volkanovski.

Henry Cejudo has told Dana White in the past that he will end his retirement for a super fight with reigning UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovksi. However, the UFC boss has yet to award ‘Triple C’ with that fight.

With that said, Cejudo has now turned his focus back to Figueiredo and Dana White encouraged the fun this time around.

I see you’re an expert on blowing because your last fight sucked. And this is your fighter of the year Dana White? I’ll blow his ass out in 1, and it’s 1 minute! #rentachamp ” – Henry Cejudo wrote Twitter while tagging Deiveson Figueiredo.

Although Cejudo believes Figueiredo’s last fight at UFC 256 ‘sucked’, the general consensus among fighters was that Deiveson’s war with Moreno was the biggest fight in the history of the 125 pound division.

Nevertheless, Henry Cejudo clearly believes that he will work quickly on the promotion of the new flyweight king in Deiveson Figueiredo.

‘Triple C’ stepped up to a winning streak of six fights from mixed martial arts, including victories over Marlon Moraes, TJ Dillashaw, Demetrious Johnson, Sergio Pettis and Dominick Cruz.

Meanwhile, Figueiredo (20-1-1 MMA) is unbeaten over his past six appearances in Octagon. ‘Daico’ won at that point over opponents Tim Elliott, Joseph Benavidez (x2) and Alex Perez.
