Hennessey draws 1000 hp Shelby GT500 against the new Porsche 911 Turbo S

Few things are more enjoyable than a showdown between two incredibly powerful vehicles. Aside from the obvious instant gratification of the sport, it is also an excellent way to measure performance. That’s why Hennessey recently offered a race between the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S and the store’s own 1,000 horsepower (746 kilowatt) Ford Mustang GT500.

When a realistic scenario is repeated – and the traction variable is removed from the equation – both vehicles start from a roll of 80 kilometers per hour. The pony car jumps rather unexpectedly after an easy victory over the quarter-mile competition. As a small consolation for Porsche fans, it is our sadness not to mention that both presenters are aware that this is not necessarily an honest fight between the two.

The US voice company quickly said that a standard GT500 would probably lose to the Porsche. If you did not think John Hennessey already had great confidence in his work, the 911 Turbo S in this video is his personal start.

Regardless, we’re still shocked that we did not see a standard drag race between these two. We’ll note that the cruel traction of the Porsche could turn it into an easy quarter-mile victory – a half-mile race would be very interesting, but the trail at the Penzoil Proving Ground unfortunately doesn’t go that far. .

While the title of the video includes the phrase street racing, Hennessey Performance and Motor1 is strong against this practice; the demonstration in this case is for testing purposes only. If you want to race with your friends, do it properly and safely at your local racetrack.
